:《弗1:4,7》告诉我们说:神从创立世界以前在基督里拣选了教会,使她在神面前成为圣洁,无有瑕疵。教会也是神借祂爱子的血所救赎,以至过犯得以赦免。有些人一讲到教会,基本的观念就是觉得教会很软弱、污秽、甚至不贞洁。可能是他们自己爱世界,因此不重视教会,觉得那只是人来做礼拜的地方。或者他们因为在教会受了伤害,就觉得教会是丑陋的,是充满假冒伪善的人的地方。要不然,他们就是看到教会里仍有很多人犯罪,且还未改过来,就认为教会都是充满凡人的俗气,像是一群罪人在一起,还不如自己所行得正。这些人都犯了一个严重的错,就是他们轻视了主用重价买赎回来的新妇。教会是从世界被呼召出来的群人(Ekklesia),是被洁净的主的身体。那是众圣徒相聚的总会,且是神兴起各使徒们来服侍的。《弗1:1》:奉神旨意做基督耶稣使徒的保罗,写信给在以弗所的圣徒(教会)。试问有谁敢说主的身体是污秽的?有谁敢说主的新妇是不贞洁的?没错,当我们从整个历史来看,教会没有一直跟从主的旨意。她在整个世界的大环境中一直受到内忧外患的攻势,且让很多不圣洁的文化潜入其中。可能我们也会看见有些重生的信徒行了何等卑鄙与可耻的恶行,像是蒙恩的大卫犯奸淫与杀害忠臣乌利亚的事,或是彼得否认主三次的事。但是因为他们是分别为圣的子民,他们的犯罪是被主惩治的,以致他们不和世人一同定罪《林前11:32》。但是对那不被分别的世人,他们随心所欲,为所欲为,得的是按神为世人定的一般审判的刑罚,要不就是来世受到永远的刑罚。他们身上没有神特别的惩治,唯有像似一个要毁坏而被造的器皿一样。唯有圣洁的教会才会不断一次又一次的受到惩治,因为她的头(基督)是圣洁的,而她也是因基督的救赎被视为圣洁的。那么,在整体教会被惩治里面,除了炼净主所爱的圣民以外,还有一个非常关键的洁净工作,就是要将那些不悔改的,且传假道的,却是潜入教会其中的都除尽。我们要明白一个千真万确的事实,就是因为教会是圣洁的,因此整个人类历史就是要除去那在她当中不圣洁的子民(或说:山羊)。但是教会又怎么做这洁净的工作呢?就是要将上帝圣洁的道传扬。试想如果今天教会里所传的道不是喂养圣民的,反而是合乎不圣洁的子民的胃口,那么进到教会的越来越多是山羊,主的绵羊就越来越瘦弱。试问这是主洁净教会的工作吗?当然,我们不否认暂且不信主的人都有可能因听信福音而重生,但那是因为听见那纯正与圣洁的福音,使他悔改归向主。但是若我们开始体贴人意,将那合乎世人胃口的道残渣在福音的信息里,我们其实是大大的得罪神,且玷污祂的新妇。他们与其是将属神的子民召来,反而是渐渐将他们赶走。他们与其是将不圣洁,且不属神的人“赶走”,反而是将他们引进,使教会的运作越来越污秽与凡俗。当然即便如此,圣经再次向我们强调说不管教会的运作是多么的污秽,教会的本质是圣洁的。没有一间主的教会是被主撇弃的。在《启2-3章》说到七间的教会,且是代表整个宇宙性的教会。那里即便有再糟糕的教会,主都有存留那教会的理由。可能最糟糕的有两间教会,像是推雅推喇教会,说到整个教会是容让假先知耶洗别来教导整体教会的。整个教会像似进到神秘与偏斜的教导和习俗,甚至像是在神眼中是行邪术一般的。但神存留这样的教会是因为之中还有一些那不从那些教训、也不晓得撒旦那深奥之事的人《启2:20-28》。另外一个非常糟糕的教会就是撒狄教会。这教会在外在行为看像似教会,但其实是死的,甚至活着的也是衰微的(非常软弱的)。神存留这样的教会绝不是因着他们漂亮的建筑物或是在世人眼中被重视的规模,乃是因为神仍旧顾念这些衰微的,且因他们存留整体的教会《启3:1-6》。最后,我们当晓得,即便教会在软弱,但神说教会是那充满万有者所充满的。唯有教会的祷告是蒙神垂听的,因为唯有教会是圣洁的。如果一间教会已经软弱到极点,就是连带领的与整体领袖都是山羊,不圣洁的人与运作也充满整个教会,唯有那两三个软弱的圣民持守着主的道,那主就要听那两三位的祷告来带领整个教会,如同神聆听摩西、约书亚、加勒的祷告来带领全以色列。因此,我们一是要重视教会的单位,二是要重视教会里头的圣民。他们是圣洁的,也就是主所爱的新妇。
<Ep 1:4, 7> said: God chose the church in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. The church also has redemption through the blood of the Son of God, the forgiveness of sins. When we talk about the church, some people's basic understanding is that the church is very weak, unclean and even unchaste. Possibly, they themselves love the world and hence do not value the church and consider the church as being just a place of worship. Or because they have been hurt in church, and hence feel that the church is unpleasant, a place filled with hypocrites. If not, they will see that there are many who sinned in church and have also not changed for the better, and hence feel that the church is filled with the worldliness of typical people, like a group of sinners coming together who are no better than themselves. Such people made a serious mistake, that is, they have looked with contempt the bride whom the Lord had bought at a great price. The church is a group of people (Ekklesia) called out from the world, it is the body of the Lord which has been cleansed. It is the general meeting of all the saints, and also where God raised up various apostles to serve. <Ep 1:1> Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, wrote to God's holy people in Ephesus (church). Think about it, who dares to say that the Lord's body is unclean? Who dares to say that the Lord's bride is unchaste? Yes, when we look at the whole history, the church did not always follow the will of the Lord. In the macro environment of the entire world, she continues to be attacked by internal and external troubles, and has also allowed much unholy culture to infiltrate within. We possibly also see despicable and shameful deeds done by born again believers, for example, the blessed David committed adultery and murdered his loyal servant Uriah, or Peter denying the Lord three times. But because they are people who are set apart as holy, they are being disciplined for their sins, so that they will not be ultimately condemned with the world <1 Co 21:32>. But to people of the world who are not set apart, they do as they please, and receive the punishment of general judgment set by God for the world. If not, they will receive eternal punishment in their next life. There is no special punishment from God on them, only to be like a vessel that is created in preparation for destruction. Only a holy church will continue to be disciplined again and again, because her head (Christ) is holy, and she is considered holy because of Christ's salvation. Then, in the matter of the whole church being disciplined, in addition to purifying the saints loved by the Lord, there is also a very critical cleansing work, which is to separate those who do not repent and preach false teachings yet have penetrated into the church. We have to understand a very true fact, that is, because the church is holy, the entire human history is to eliminate the unholy people (or goats) within her. But how does the church do this cleansing work? It is to preach the holy word of God. Think about it, if the word preached in church today does not feed the saints, but instead suit the appetite of unholy people, then more and more goats will enter the church, and the Lord's sheep will become thinner and weaker. Let's ask, is this the work of the Lord to cleanse the church? Of course, we do not deny that it is possible for a person who does not believe in the Lord for the time being, to be born again after hearing the gospel, but that is because he heard the pure and holy gospel which makes him repent and turn to the Lord. But if we start to be considerate toward people and mix teachings that please the appetite of the world into the message of the gospel, we are actually greatly offending God and defiling his bride. Instead of calling in the people of God, they are gradually driving them away. Instead of "driving away" the unholy ones who do not belong to God, they tempt them in and cause the operation of the church to be more and more unclean and typical. Of course even so, the Bible once again emphasizes to us that no matter how unclean the operation of the church is, the church in essence is holy. No church of the Lord will be abandoned by the Lord. <Rev 2-3> talks about the seven churches, and they represent the entire universal church. No matter how bad the church is, the Lord will surely have a reason to keep that church. Perhaps the worst are the two churches, the first being Thyatira church where it was said that the whole church allowed the false prophet Jezebel to teach the whole church. The whole church seemed to have entered into mysterious and skewed teachings and customs, and even seemed to practise witchcraft in the eyes of God. But God preserved such a church because there were still some people who did not hold onto such teachings and had not learned Satan's so-called deep secrets <Rev 2:20-28>. Another very terrible church is Sardis. This church looked like a church on the outside, but in fact it was dead, and even those who were living were deteriorating (very weak). God preserved such a church not because of its beautiful architecture or its scale that was valued in the eyes of the world, but because God still cared for these deteriorating ones, and because of them, He preserved the whole church <Rev 3:1-6>. Finally, we should understand that even though the church is weak, God says that the church is filled by the one who fills everything in every way. Only the prayers of the church are heard by God, because only the church is holy. If a church is in such a weak state that even the main leader and all other leaders are goats, and unholy people and operations also fill the entire church, and only two or three weak saints still hold on to the Lord’s teachings, then the Lord will listen to the prayers of these two or three to lead the entire church, just as how God listened to Moses, Joshua and Caleb to lead the whole of Israel. Therefore, we must first value the institution of the church, and second, value the saints in the church. They are holy, and are also the bride whom the Lord loves.
