在信心的功课上，若是没有百般的试炼，信心绝不可能继续走向成全、完备的地步《雅1:2-4》。但是每当实际的试炼临到，我们又面对人人都不渴望有的心灵交战。特别，当这疫情临到时，我们的信心是不断的受到炼净，至今也继续在被考验。神的话告诉我们要因那百般的试炼而欢喜，因为那试炼终必带来更美好的结果。我们当确信主知道我们的底线，也有足够的恩典带领我们度过这一切的试炼。今天，让我们多明白信心方面的事。首先，我们知道信心是有方向，且有内容的。那绝不是盲信与迷信，乃是信那创造万有，且拖住万有的神的话。但信心也同时是个人的。那是我们与主之间的关系里所产生的动态。这如同在这疫情中，我们每个人信心的表现都不一样。有人有信心到教会去，也有人的信心促使他只能在家中聚会。这如同《罗14:1-2》说到有人有信心吃百物，有的只有信心吃蔬菜。但是在此圣经教导我们不要议论谁有或没有信心做某一些的事，因为那是人与神的关系之间在当时当事所产生的动态。这不限于你在这疫情中去不去聚会，可能也包括你生病时看不看医生，或是你在某些情况抽不抽出时间、精力、金钱等来做一些事工。那都是非常个人的，也是我们向着主做的。因此，我们不要陷入那种“怕受控告而自卫”的光景。（见证：我有一个信主的表弟，每次看到我为主所做的，都会承认说自己的信心还没有到达那地步，且继续在主面前求恩，我也继续勉励他，走更荣耀的道路。他正直与谦卑的心确实叫他的信心在这些年来逐渐的成长）。倘若一个人的生命正直的面对神，且不受到无谓的控告或自责感，他的信心才能很健全的成长。但是说到这里，我们还要认识信心的另一个功课，就是：“信心如何实际的成长呢？”除了听道以外，信心成长的另一个奥秘就是《腓3:16》: 「我们到了什么地步，就当照着什么地步行」。确实，不行道的信心是绝对不会成长的，那只是纸上谈兵的信心。因此，我们必须知道我们到了什么地步，而在那个地步我们要怎么行。有时在行道当中，我们不是没有信心，但我们一直会被我们过去的失败或阴影影响。我们可能会认为某些事是“难成的事”。但是从我们再次听到主的吩咐而遵行时，那接下来会发生的事却是我们意想不到的。那如同在《路5:5》，西门说：“夫子，我们整夜劳力，并没有打着什么，但依从你的话，我就下网。”他们依从了主的话，后来看见主成就超过他们所求所想的。在这疫情中，我们会听到很多的声音。可能大众的观点与情绪是希望信徒连十人以内的小组都不要相聚。当然这不是每个人都能承受的压力，但主的话告诉我们说：「我们到了什么地步，就当照着什么地步行」。

In the lesson of faith, if there are no trials of many kinds, faith certainly cannot possibly move to the stage of being mature and complete <Jas 1:2-4>. However, whenever practical trials come, we will once again face the spiritual battle that no one desires. Especially, when this pandemic comes, our faith is constantly being purified, and up to today, it is still being tested. God’s word tells us to rejoice because of the trials of many kinds, as those trials will surely bring about more beautiful fruits. We must firmly believe that the Lord knows our limits, and He is leading us through all these trials with sufficient grace. Today, let us understand more about faith. First, we know that faith has direction and contents. That is absolutely not blind faith or superstitious faith, but faith in God’s word which created and sustains everything. Yet at the same time, faith is personal. That is the dynamics produced by our relationship with the Lord. This is just like in the pandemic, the expression of each of our faith is different. Some people have the faith to go to church, some people’s faith also prompted them to only worship at home. This is like <Ro 14:1-2> talks about some people having the faith to eat anything, while some only have the faith to eat vegetables. But the Bible teaches us not to comment about who has or does not have the faith to do certain things, because that is the dynamics in the relationship between man and God at that moment and in that matter. This is not confined to whether you attend church during the pandemic, perhaps it also includes whether you consult a doctor when you are sick, or whether you will fork out time, energy, money, etc., under certain circumstances to commit to certain ministries. Those are very personal, they are also what we do unto the Lord. Therefore, we should not fall into the state of “self-defence out of fear of accusations”. (Testimony: I have a Christian cousin, every time he saw what I did for the Lord, he would admit that his faith had not reached that level, but he continued to seek grace before the Lord. I also kept encouraging him to take the more glorious path. His upright and humble heart truly made his faith gradually grow all these years). If a person faces God uprightly and does not receive unnecessary accusations or self-reproach, then his faith can grow healthily. But having said this, we must still understand another lesson about faith, that is: “How can faith practically grow?” Besides hearing the word, another mystery of growing the faith is <Phil 3:16>: “We should live up to what we have already attained.” Indeed, faith without deeds will certainly not grow, that faith is like mere paper talk. Therefore, we must know what we have already attained and how to live up to that. Sometimes, in the course of living out the word, it is not that we are without faith, but we are always affected by our past failures or shadows. We may think that certain things are “hard to accomplish”. However, when we hear the Lord’s instructions once again and obey Him, what comes next will be what we cannot imagine. This is like in <Lk 5:5>, Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” They obeyed the Lord’s word, and after that, they saw how the Lord fulfilled more than all they asked or imagined. In this pandemic, we will hear many voices. Perhaps the majority view and sentiment hopes that believers do not even meet in groups of ten and below. Certainly, not everyone can withstand such pressure, but the Lord’s word tells us, “Let us live up to what we have already attained.”
