当保罗说:“我已经与基督同钉十字架。现在活着的,不再是我,乃是基督在我里面活着。”这句话并不是强调他信耶稣之后,努力舍己委身,要为主撇弃一切的精神。乃是他发现了一个绝对事实,就是当他信了耶稣基督,他已经再也无法用世界的标准或人的是非之心来判断自己了。因为他的生命已经不属于自己,乃属于主,是已经拥有基督的生命与应许在他身上了。所以,他今天活着,是因信基督神的儿子(义,爱,同在,引导,成就…)而活,不是以任何人的标准、律法的要求、或是自己的良知。纵然有时被过犯所胜或是行的不合宜,他也发现他不能控告自己,若是行得美善也不因自己所行的感到公义自豪,因为他的生命已不属于自己了!他凡事唯有要回复的是爱主听从主的心(神儿子的心)就好了。这也就是因信称义的奥秘了!今天有许多信徒似乎知道因信称义的道理,但在心灵里并不认识与依靠‘因信称义’的生命。人总是处在一下自卑又一下骄傲或一下灰心又一下兴奋的光景,心里受到各种世界或良知的批判。这是因为还是自己在活(自己在负责自己的生命与所做的一切),由始至终没有发现自己是已经与基督同钉十字架了。其实,这是心灵‘不认识’的问题,并不是‘不努力’的问题。这如同一个孩子不认识自己的身份就是家里的小主人(没有小主人的心灵),但他却努力要活出那样子,努力要讨父母欢欣,但这是矛盾虚假的。保罗在今天的经文里强调因信称义(与主同死同复活)的奥秘,以此推翻了犹太律法主义者。他也证明‘以信而活’本是上帝起初呼召人的美意;若不是借着‘信’,无法得知神的恩;若不是‘信而来的义’,心灵还是存留在定罪、诅咒、刑罚、惧怕的状态;也唯有借着‘信而称义’才能看见圣灵大能的作为。
When Paul said: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me”, he was not emphasizing that after he believed in Jesus, he tried hard to deny and give up himself to have the spirit to leave everything behind for God. It is actually that he discovered an absolute truth – that is, when he believed in Jesus Christ, he can no longer use the standards of the world or the human sense of right and wrong to judge himself. Because his life already did not belong to himself, it belonged to the Lord. He already possessed the life and promise of Christ in him. Therefore, he lived today because he believed in Christ, God’s son (righteousness, love, presence, guidance, fulfilment…) and lived by it, instead of by any of man’s standards, demands of the law, or own conscience. Even though sometimes he was overcome by transgressions or did not act appropriately, he also discovered that he could not accuse himself. If he acted beautifully, he should also not feel righteous or proud because of his actions, because his life already did not belong to him! In all things, he only wanted to restore the heart to love and obey the Lord (heart of God’s child). This is the mystery of being justified by faith! Today, many believers seem to know the theory of being justified by faith, but their spirits do not know or rely on the life of ‘being justified by faith’. Man is always in a state of sometimes feeling inferior and sometimes proud or sometimes discouraged and sometimes excited, the heart receives all kinds of judgment from the world or conscience. This is because man still lives on his own (taking own responsibility of own life and what one does), from beginning to the end never realise that he is already nailed to the cross together with Christ. Actually, this is the problem of ‘not knowing’ in the spirit, instead of the problem of ‘not trying hard’. This is like a child does not know that his identity is the little master of the family (does not have the spirit of the little master), but he tries very hard to live out that image, to please his parents, this is irony and falsehood. In today’s scriptures, Paul emphasized the mystery of being justified by faith (dying and resurrecting with the Lord), and used this to overthrow Jewish legalists. He also proved that ‘living by faith’ itself is the original perfect will by which God called man; if it is not by ‘faith’, there is no way to know God’s grace; if it is not the ‘righteousness that comes from faith’, the spirit will still remain in the state of condemnation, curse, punishment, fear; and only through ‘justified by faith’ can one see the powerful work of the Holy Spirit.
