At the beginning of the year, many people are busy planning or accomplishing things, but what is most important is ‘what you believe’ to set the direction for the year.  Successful people in the world will set some milestones or New Year resolutions, hoping to see off the old and welcome the new, forget the unhappy past, look forward to a better future. However, the God who has already accomplished everything already had a beautiful plan even before we stepped into a new year. He gives His promise to His children, and calls His children to believe in the peace and assurance brought about by the promise and walk through the whole year. Milestone or New Year resolution is a longing, but the promise of God is already fulfilled.  One who starts a year according to the promise will not be ashamed, and will surely grow steadily in the new year. He will also see great and unsearchable things accomplished through his life. Often, we always face our unhappiness, weaknesses and failures in the past year and hope to forget them in the New Year, and strive to go forward. But one day, I understood in Christ: “My blessings today are brought about by the past”. Actually God doesn’t ask us to forget the past, but to integrate our past good and bad experiences, conditions and times in the promise and use them to glorify God, benefit men and build the Kingdom. Actually, the success ahead is not dependent on forgetting the negative or only thinking about the positive, but in truly believing in the promise that God is with us. I am still bound and burdened by past weaknesses, failures and problems, because I have not integrated the past into the promise. Instead, I still entertain thoughts of blaming self, blaming others, complaining about the environment, feeling unlucky, envious of others. In fact, because we do not believe, we do not place the ‘completely successful and victorious Lord’ in our lives and see our everything through Him. Actually, when a person understands this mystery, he will experience the ‘great power of the gospel’. The great power of gospel is not about desiring more, but in believing that God is with you, so you already have everything; the great power of gospel is not wanting to be more successful, but in believing that God is with you, therefore, all your conditions, background and times already have God’s most successful plan in it; the great power of the gospel is not wanting more anointing to serve the Lord, but in the conditions, gifts, people that God gives me, discover ‘the people that God wants to bless through me’. That is the great power that our Lord Jesus Christ displayed on earth. In all the conditions, background, situations He had, He only lived in the presence of the Father God. Through that, He accomplished the perfect work of the Father, and attracted all nations to surrender to Him.
