1. Abiding the Word as Christ's command.

·       Read <Jn 8:31–32; 15:1-3>

* The promise of preservation through abiding the Word.

 

2. Distinguish knowledge and wisdom, knowledge and love.

1) Knowledge can be without wisdom; knowledge can be without love

·       Read <Pro 1:7; 1Cor 8:1>

 

2) We tend to downplay the importance of knowledge.

·       Read <Pro 1:20-22; 1Cor 8:1-3>

3) We must strive to apply our knowledge in love for our Christian brothers and sisters, not to use it against their good.

·       Read <Php 1:8-9>

3. What if we cannot abide in the Word?

 

1) You Cannot Obey God Without God -> Lord, command me

·       Read <Jn15:5>

2) Prepare to face discipline, for it imprints in us God's absolute word.

·       Read <Jn15:6>

* If the Lord has determined to judge, then choose discipline that ends with hope.

·       Read <Jer 21:8-10; 29:11>

3) Do not use your weakness to threaten others.

·       Read <1Cor 10:33; Col 1:10>

4) But keep working out your growth.

* We need to be proven as disciples with fruits.
