How
do prayer and evangelism go hand in hand?
<Ac3:1;10:9,30;16:13;6:4; 2Ti4:1-2; Mt6:11-12; Ac2:23; 4:29-30>
Scripture reading: <Ac3:1; 10:9,30; 16:13>
1. Devotion to prayer and to the ministry of the word is ultimately the most important.
<Ac6:4>
1) (Unreached) people need to know that our lives (people evangelising) are surrendered to Christ.
2) Prayer is to make salvation happen, because we know that only God gives the growth <1Co3:7>.
3) No one in their natural state really seeks after God. <Ro 3:10-12>.
4) Prayer is to be fully aware of God's presence when preaching / evangelizing.
Scripture reading: <2Ti 4:1-2>
5) Our lives are to have quiet set-apart time for prayers so that we can have illumination of the Holy Spirit.
Scripture reading: <2Ti 6:11-12>
2. God ordains secondary means, even our prayers, to accomplish His will.
Scripture reading: <Ac2:23>
1) Therefore, God encourages us to pray.
2) We pray for the preaching of the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit to confirm.
Scripture reading: <Ac4:29-30>
3) Some prayer topics for evangelism.
(1) Giving people the right perception of God.
(2) God is both powerful and of love, in strength and in weakness.
(3) The uniqueness of Jesus.
(4) The surpassing Jesus people actually do not know.
(5) The gospel is that Jesus came to save sinners.
